"CondoGuide - The GTA Edition". (2007, 6 August). HomeGuides.ca: :27.
"Artistic highrise inspired by Italian island". (2007, 30 June). Toronto Star.
Burano Condominiums will have a design inspired by its namesake  the beautiful island near Venice, Italy.
The island is famous for its glass artists, painters, lace merchants and brightly painted houses. Lanterra Developments says its Burano condo will be a 48-storey glass tower, rising from the historic Addison on Bay façade and feature many similar elements of artistry.
Lanterra took a team to visit the scenic island for ideas. While there, the group met with artist Sandro Martini, who will create an oversized artwork to hang in Burano's three-storey glass lobby.
Peter Clewes of ArchitectsAlliance will guide Burano's exterior design that fuses contemporary architecture with its heritage roots. Residents will be able to enter the building from Bay St. through the doors of the traditional brick Addison on Bay building.
Interior spaces well be designed by Alessandro Munge of Munge//Leung: Design Associates and include the lobby with its lace-patterned walls, columns and luxurious furnishings. Munge also designed the 1,264-square-foot model suite.
One-, two- and three-bedroom suites, with and without dens, will suit buyers from singles to families. Suites range from 445 to 1,406 square feet, with prices from about $204,900 to $712,900. Two-storey lofts are available in 16 different designs, from 614 to 1,222 square feet.
