  That changed when the 89-room SoHo Metropolitan opened in April 2003 in the 24/7 Entertainment District, perfect if you want to check out the clubs or theater or take in an event at the SkyDome. But it's also within walking distance of the Financial District.

  Local hotelier Henry Wu, who also owns the Metropolitan hotels in Toronto and Vancouver, teamed up with Bruce Greenberg, a local developer to build a condo tower with a luxury hotel at the base. The first four floors are the hotel and the other 12 are filled with two-story loft condos, which share services with the hotel.
