Although its name might give the wrong impression, The Monet is no work of art. On the other hand, it does bring a rare note of elegance to the glitzy but largely banal skyline of North York.
Rising 28 storeys, The Monet, at 60 Byng Ave., is a glass tower in a forest of concrete slabs. With its curved facades facing west and east, this is one of those buildings that looks better from a distance, as an object on the horizon, though it's not always easy to see.
