Definitions UrbanDB is a volunteer based information resource. While we do our best to cover as many locations as possible it is limited by the number of dedicated volunteers and their location. Since I (Rod) lives in Toronto, that was the first city to be thoroughly covered. We are actively expanding out from Toronto though it will take time. You can help speed up the process by contributing. From time to time you may find a bug in the building editing code, broken links, or something as simple as a spelling mistake. Please Contact Us and describe in detail the issue you found, it will be corrected as soon as possible. We do our best but we are not perfect. If you have a concern over a data point in our system we can usually point to the reference we retrieved it from. If you have corrections please send them our way along with reference material or description of how you found the correct data if it is first-hand knowledge. Sometimes we're behind the times and the building has changed and in other cases we used a poor data source or simply made a typo. Rest assured it was not an intentional mistake and that we would like to correct the issue if you would be kind enough to point it out to us. As a developer or building owner, it is in your interest to ensure UrbanDB is up to date so that potential clients who find your building within UrbanDB will be correctly informed. Management, Sales, Leasing, and Development of Buildings UrbanDB does not manage, develop, or perform real-estate sales in any way. This website is intended to be informative only and is not used as a sales gateway. It is supported through the advertising within the website only. We are not supported by any real-estate salespersons, brokerages, or landlords beyond advertising within UrbanDB. Most of the data on UrbanDB comes from magazines, news paper articles, municipal documents, developer websites, and first hand observations. In most cases you can find the references list at the bottom of the building page. We are actively filling in gaps in our references for building data points which do not currently list a reference. Some references, such as communications with developer or management staff, are tracked internally and are not displayed on the website. Since there is no official height that makes a skyscraper, UrbanDB has chosen the arbitrary height of 150m or higher. In cases when a height is not available, an estimate is generated based on the number of floors the building has. A high-rise is considered to be building of 30m in height or taller up to 150m. In cases when a height is not available, an estimate is generated based on the number of floors the building has. A mid-rise is considered to be building of 12m in height or taller up to 30m. In cases when a height is not available, an estimate is generated based on the number of floors the building has. |
